How do I know when an item will be restocked online?

Normally it takes two weeks at most for a product to come back in stock. If something is out of stock, you are able to sign up for back-in-stock notifications. For further detailed information please contact our customer support team.

My order arrived incomplete or damaged. How can I get a replacement?

As soon as your order arrives please check your items are complete and in good shape. In case you have got a broken/defective product or your order is incomplete, we need you to please provide your order details by email to our customer support team. Additionally if the product is defective you should provide a picture showing the defect.

Why do you recommend a 9 minutes method for French Press coffee brewing when everything I see online recommends four to five minutes?

While many online sources recommend 4-5 minutes for French Press coffee brewing, James Hoffman, who won the World Barista Championship in 2007, knows a thing or two about coffee brewing and recommends the 9 minute method.  If you want to make a better brew, the added time is necessary. Plus, better brews aren’t really possible without the use of a double-wall French press like ours as they stay hot much longer.

How does the valve work?

Freshly roasted coffee emits CO2 gas which can attack and destroy coffee flavor. In fact, when your beans are grounded, the amount of CO2 produced increases a lot in a short period of time. To add onto this problem, coffee beans or grounds that are exposed to oxygen will stale much faster.

To solve this problem, we designed our canisters with an airtight seal and a one-way valve built into the lid. The valve is a fairly simple device which allows CO2 to escape by “lifting” the seal to allow CO2 gas to flow out. However, when outside air comes into the canister, the seal is closed onto the Inlet which prevents oxygen from entering. Therefore, the valve is crucial for helping your coffee stay fresh much longer.

Should I replace my coffee canister valves? If so, how often?

There is no need to replace the valve often. It should actually last for years. The only real reason to change it is for aesthetic purposes and even then it's really only if you store pre ground beans - the tiny coffee particles are more likely to make the valve look unclean. It may also gradually get blocked from general pollutants like dust in the atmosphere. Keeping the canister in a dust-free environment like a cupboard is the easiest way to preserve the valve's lifespan. Also, the valve should always stay dry. The valve is useless after it's been soaked with water, so don't forget to remove it before cleaning your canister.

Can this kettle be used on the induction burners?

Yes, our Coffee Gator kettles can be used with induction, halogen, gas, or electric burners.

If you are using an induction heater you might hear a humming sound. This is normal and due to vibrations between the heater and kettle.

What is the mini canister for?

The mini canister is an ideal solution to transport small amounts of coffee for the day. For example, if you would like to bring your favorite coffee from home to your office for an after lunch cup of coffee, the mini canister is the best solution.

Can the coffee canister be used in the refrigerator?

Yes, but we strongly recommend not storing your Coffee Gator canister in the refrigerator because it’s not a good environment for coffee. The change in temperature from going in and out of the refrigerator can cause condensation and moisture which will make your coffee spoil faster. Coffee is already stable at room temperature, so as long as the canister is properly closed, your coffee is in good hands.

Are pour over carafes dishwasher safe?

Carafes are dishwasher safe, but items placed in the dishwasher (especially those made of glass) are always at risk of being damaged by other items in the dishwasher, so we recommend washing them by hand.

The filter is dishwasher safe, but it should be washed directly after brewing to prevent it from clogging. 

Can Pour Over carafes or French Press coffee makers be heated?

No, these products are not suitable for any type of external heating.

Why is the pour over coffee brewer dripping too slowly?

It is extremely important to clean the filter directly after brewing. Fresh hot brew produces a lot of oil and when the temperature decreases (dregs being left in the filter for some time) that oil jells up and gets hard as a stone. So cleaning the filter directly is the only way to avoid the clogging.

If you already noticed that the filter got clogged, you could try using organic compounds to dissolve the oils.

A few great options are: 

Acetic acid (vinegar)

Citric acid (lemon juice)

Since these options are consumable, they are safe to use. Allow your filter to soak in any of these compounds for a while. Then scrub the filter with a brush (an old toothbrush will do) and rinse well.

Where do you deliver?

At the moment we are only shipping to the US.

When is my order shipped?

We do our very best to ship your order right away after you place an order. Typically, you can expect it to be delivered within 5-7 days depending on your location.

How much does shipping cost

Our standard shipping is free for all domestic US orders, $5.99 for expedited shipping, and $12.99 for priority shipping.

My email address has changed. How do I update this information to my current account?

You should contact the Customer Support team where our agents will change the address manually in our system. You can contact us at hello@coffeegator.com

I want to change my delivery address. How do I do that?

Contact our customer service team and they will be able to assist you in case there are any mistakes with the shipping address. If you simply need to change your shipping address in your Coffee Gator account then please log in into our website and go to Account details>View Addresses>Edit/Add new address.

How do I cancel my order?

In the event that an order has already been shipped and you wish to cancel it, you should contact our Customer Support team (hello@coffeegator.com) immediately and they will work with you to remedy the situation 

Tracking/Where is my package?

Once a product ships you will receive a tracking number via email.

Do you accept ordered shipping to APO/FPO/DPO OR PO BOX addresses?

It is possible to do so although from time to time such shipments get returned. We recommend  getting certified shipping and if possible shipping insurance. 

Currently we do not ship to PO box addresses since many shipping carriers do not deliver to PO boxes.

RETURNS, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES:

What's your return policy?

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. More about our returns policy by clicking "here"

I want to return my purchase! What do I do?

You should contact our customer support service at hello@coffeegator.com and provide your order ID and briefly explain the reasons for returning. Then you'd get a return label you should paste to the shipping box in order to return the item.

I would like to return a gift that was sent to me. How do I do that?

The procedure is similar to the normal returning of items. You must provide the order ID of the purchase, should be asked by the person who made the present to you.

Can I exchange my order instead of returning it?

This is possible as long as the order is not fulfilled in our system yet. If it has not yet, contact our Customer Support team immediately so they can manually modify your order at will. In case the order has already been shipped, the solution would be for you to return the item, get refunded and place a new order with the desired items.

I want to check my order's whereabouts. Where can I find it?

In case you have not recieved a notification with the tracking number, you can contact our CS team to provide this information.

How can I write a review on a product?

Go to the page of the product you would like to write the review, scroll down to the Review section, click on write a review and fill in the information.

How do I use my Coupon Code?

When you advance to  the checkout page in the purchasing process you will see the discount box. Please enter your code to redeem it.

I am using my mobile phone and I do not see the code box

Please click on "Show order summary" in the first page of the checkout and the discount code box will display.

My Coupon Code is not working. What should I so?

Please check the conditions of the discount code you are trying to apply, e.g. propper product (item, color, size, amount), you are within the given timeframe of the offer and you meet, if the case, the minimum cost for the purchase. If after double checking the requirements and conditions of the offer you are still having problems, please contact our customer support for alternatives.

Do you answer inquiries on weekends?

We are constantly working to support you ASAP and that includes the weekends as well. During weekends and holidays you might not get immediate answer within a short time frame but we'd for sure come back to you within 12 hours.
